As a member of the FIS Council, I applaud the work of the CBDN for the modernization of its governance structure to better serve its constituents. As the world around us evolves, it’s imperative that we, as sports associations serving athletes, also adapt and modernize out structures to better manage our important roles. The governance structure put in place by the Brazilian confederation addresses common elements such as separation of board and executive, athlete inclusion, term limits and the establishment of a compliance officer to ensure standards are met. The athletes and sport participants will be better served with such a robust and transparent governance structure.
